The story of one song: "OOPS! ... I DID IT AGAIN", Britney Spears

“Oops ... I Did It Again”, and the album of the same name became a landmark for Britney Spears. It was this song that raised her to fame and cemented her title of “pop princess”. The song “Oops ... I Did It Again”, like the first hit of Spears, “Babe one more time”, does not differ in depth of thought, but is more relaxed.

"Oops ... I Did It Again" and the eponymous album became a landmark for Spears

In this composition, Spears appears no longer in the role of an innocent girl (this is where her loud media statement asks that she wants to preserve her virginity until marriage), but a real temptress. Bright red latex jumpsuit, sexy dance - she can only tell Oooops from a video clip to an unhappy astronaut in love from a video clip.

Whether this was done for even greater “promotion” or just for “fun,” but the song has a direct reference to the film “Titanic” - it will be difficult not to notice it. In the video, the astronaut gives Britney a necklace, to which she replies: "But I thought the old woman threw him into the ocean."

In the song "Oops ... I Did It Again" there is a direct reference to the film "Titanic"

About the existence of this song, people who do not favor the works of the pop industry, have learned only 5 years after its release. It was then that in 2005, the cover version of “Oops ... I Did It Again” released Palast Orchester. This orchestra recorded a cabaret version of the song and included it in the album Super Hits, which consists entirely of arrangements of well-known compositions in the same style.

Even before this, many parodies of this song were made. And when it was discussed everywhere that Spears had breast augmentation surgery with implants, even the name was jokingly changed to “Oops ... They deflated again” (Oops! They went down again).

However, after a cover from Palast Orchester, it appeared that in fact this song was performed by King of Jazz Louis Armstrong back in 1932. The song allegedly became the second track on the single "All of Me", but then the audience did not notice the song. Later it turned out that the messages about 1932 are a duck.

Rumors around Spears only added "Oops ... I Did It Again" popularity

However, such rumors only added "Oops ... I Did It Again" popularity. Another good “move” was the combination of two songs “(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction” by The Rolling Stones and “Oops ... I Did It Again” at Spears performing at the MTV VMA ceremony. As a result, the album sold over 20 million copies worldwide.

I think I did it again

I’m not really friends

Oh baby

It might seem like a crush

But it doesn't mean that I'm serious.

'Cause to lose all my senses

That is just so typically me

Oh baby baby

Oops ... I did it again

I played with your heart, got lost in the game

Oh baby baby

Oops ... You think I'm in love

That i'm sent from above

I'm not that innocent

You see my problem is this

I'm dreaming away

Wishing that heroes, they truly exist

I cry, watching the days

Can't you see it?

But to lose all my senses

That is just so typically me

Baby oh

I think I did it again.

I made you believe that we are not just friends

Oh baby

It may seem like a passion

But this does not mean that I am serious

Because lose my mind

It is so much like me.

Oh baby baby

Oops ... I did it again

I played with your feelings and got confused myself

Oh baby baby

Oops ... you think I'm in love

What have I sent down above,

But I'm not so innocent

You see, my trouble is

That I dream too much

Presenting that the characters really exist,

I cry, facing reality

Can't you see how often I cheat,

But lose your mind

It is so much like me.

Baby oh
